Glue It, Screw It, Do It, NOW!

Neptune and Amphitrite
Sometimes, during a workshop I'm teaching, I have to turn into a cheerleader of sorts. It is often hard for some to make the final decision to place something permanently down on their work. It's hard to actually glue it or screw it for some folks. I suffer from this myself and I have to become my own cheerleader. So I chant, glue it, glue it, glue it.......

What happens is, you look and look and search for the perfect fit, whether its a picture or an assemblage part and then Eureka! you find just the thing but then that adult brain takes over and you start telling yourself "I may have to rip it to make it fit and it may ruin it if I screw it on there or if I do this the item is ruined forever, or this is too good to use on this.

My answer is Glue It, Screw It, Do It. In the big scheme of things it will be okay. You can always go over it if you don't like it. You can always unscrew it. There are millions of 'things' in this world. Use them.

Be fearless. Do more art.

Lisa, I look forward to more excellent cheer leading from you! Now when I'm stalling I can think: what would Lisa say? Thanks for all you do to bring art to the world!
