Mixed Media Jewelry Workshop

Lisa Bartlett of Spare Parts Studio presents a Mixed Media Jewelry Workshop
----for the slightly strange.

a focus on found object and picture pendant jewelry.

Create 5-8 fabulous pieces of jewelry utilizing different techniques in mixed media. We will use vintage jewelry parts for upcycling, images that you treasure, and unusual things to create interesting works of adornment. Add personal items and create pieces that you will treasure.
 Saturday March 21st 10-4:30 pm  
at Orr Street Studios, Columbia Missouri
4-4:30 pm informal happy hour and viewing of creations.

$65 per person includes all tools, supplies,lunch and snacks!

limited class size. A non-refundable deposit of $25 received by March 17th 2009 will hold your spot in the class.

 Techniques you will learn to apply:
 The construction of image/picture pendants under glass or on tiles
 The dynamics of making cord, chain and necklace parts
 Re-using, up-cycling objects for adornment
  This class will be an exploration into the processes of making wearable art and the use of found objects in jewelry. It involves transforming discarded materials into something meaningful and even sacred.
  
Don't bring a thing (except for personal items to incorporate in your works) Just show up and create!
 
All items will be supplied including:
 
1. Scissors, cutting tools hardware, drills etc. . .
 
2. jewelry tools, findings, beads, hardware
 
3. pendant materials
 
4. adhesives
 
5. images
 
6. Different kinds of glues
 -If something has meaning to you and you want to incorporate it into your pieces, bring it. We will figure out a way.
